President Marcos Supports Expanded ALS for Out-of-School Learners

The Department of Education (DepEd) has launched the Enhanced Alternative Learning System (ALS) to provide more flexible learning pathways for out-of-school children, youth, and adults.

Education Secretary Sonny Angara emphasized that this reform supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s vision of inclusive growth by ensuring no learner is left behind.

Key features of the enhanced ALS include:

• Alignment with the K-12 curriculum
• Recognition of prior learning and micro-certifications
• Flexible learning modalities
• Stronger partnerships with local governments, NGOs, private groups, and community learning centers
